  • Establishment of finance function, initially Xero then migrated to Netsuite (multi-currency, multi-entity) after successful capital raises.

Finance Sector
  • Swaps margining project (APRA CPS226)
  • IFRS9 system establishment (Azure/R web app) for offshore credit agency (to assist their clients in meeting reporting requirements)
  • APRA ICAAP stress test (multiple times) for Australian mutual.
  • Development of Basel II APRA compliant system for credit risk (also pricing and loan origination) as Oracle web app for above mutual, using PD, LGD, EL concepts
  • Development of liquidity management tool (excel based, APRA compliant) for QTC. Also assistance with compliance issues re spreadsheets (move to self-service BI environment)
Infrastructure
  • Expressways/Bridges - Development of Excel financial models and related analytics for a number of Brisbane projects (generally preliminary evaluation stage). These also mostly involved PPP/PSC and monte-carlo risk analytics:
    • Brisbane Motorways (5 linked expressways), Clem Jones Tunnel, Goodwill Bridge, Port of Brisbane Motorway upgrade, Cunningham Highway upgrade. 
  • Water - Development of Excel-based model for Gold Coast Water Supply as well as Toowoomba water pipeline.
  • Correctional Facility - development of Excel financial model and related analytics as part of Correction facility preliminary evaluation, and subsequent follow up projects.
  • River Dredging - Financial analysts on team working on business case for potential Coomera River dredging operations. Built Excel financial model under Qld State project assurance/ value for money framework and prepared the financial section of the Business Case.
  • Port Commercial Facilities - Excel financial analysis of various options available for rearrangement of Port of Townsville commercial marine precinct given potential change to transport access corridor to port. Also Tender evaluation
Transport
  • Ferries - Multiple strategic, operational and contract review analyses to assist in management of Council ferry operations (generally incorporated detailed spreadsheet forward analyses)
  • Dubai Ferries - Excel model for potential ferry operation in Dubai Creek.
  • Buses - Tender evaluation and subsequent related analytics for bus procurement.
  • Rail 
    • Development of Excel bid model for offshore rail project.
    • ​Excel analysis re likelihood of private sector interest in a rail extension
    • Rail Procurement - development of Excel analytical tool to review alternate rail sourcing and welding strategies, selection of preferred approach, specification of financial and commercial aspects of international tender documentation, evaluation of tender proposals and preparation of Board advice.
    • Profitability analysis for integrated road/rail freight operation at Origin/Destination/product level (spreadsheet and database solution).
    • Development of Excel analytics for financial evaluation and business case development of a range of new capital investment and joint venture proposals.

    • ​develop Excel financial model for Business Case, JV and PPA negotiation for a sugar mill.

  • Waste Management - Build excel/VBA model to assist councils re financial reporting, full cost/economic pricing, site rehabilitation provisioning etc.
