Life-long learning

We use MOOCs a lot as well as O'Reilly/Safari, Stack Overflow and lots of blogs etc, and also a lot of current favourite AI llm - Claude for now!
MOOCs are probably not the best guide, but are at least easy to summarise from course completion certificates and show  areas we have explored over more recent years :

At core we do finance, but with an increasingly data centric focus, and with access to a lot more toolsets.

Clearly, approaches and toolsets have changed massively especially over the last year or so. We now use AI extensively in all analyses. AI has its issues with hallucinations and the like but when managed properly are indispensable now. The way work is done is also much changed, with personal and project knowledge bases (eg Obsidian/ChromaDB), all resulting in extensive changes to the better, we think.

Its a pretty exciting time to be doing analytics!

Our core toolsets remain core ERP environments, Excel, Power BI and the Microsoft stack, but using additional toolsets and environments. R and Python can both be used with Power BI and Excel to some extent or we can just use Azure ML from Power BI. There is an incredible and growing amount of flexibility, not even to mention newer agentic AI approaches we are now looking at.
